Awesome Color.

Comparisons to the Stooges, The Scientists, Sonic Youth, Dinosaur Jr. and Spacemen 3 aside, the only comparative description you need to know about Awesome Color is, "if the members of Led Zeppelin had started a punk band, it would sound like Awesome Color." I saw them last week with American Sphinx (eh...) and LadderLegs (from Boston with members of RatPack and Ghost in My Basement, and they also played a great set). It was a decent show, Girl Talk's coked—up—groupie—entourage excluded (he played earlier at Cornell. both the show and the guy himself...kinda lame), and then Awesome Color came on and they were fuckin' great. Real loud and noisy, and strings were stretched, and my face was rocked off. From Michigan—via—Brooklyn on Ecstatic Peace! They have one self—titled from 2006 and Electric Aborigines from 2008. If you're a big fan of the Stooges, then you'll like the self—titled, but i think ELectric Aborigines is better. Go become a huge fan.
